Sometimes you just want to stop, look, and enjoy the show.
This shot was taken just after the sun had dropped below the horizon. The sky was overcast, but a small break in the clouds appeared in the west for just a few minutes at just the right time.
Sometimes, it pays to get up early.
My favorite season. Cool nights, few bugs, golden light, and forests to get lost in.
A summer sunset framed by the boughs of an old and majestic oak tree.
A fine September morning, the grass heavy with dew and only the birds for company.
Flowering crabapple trees in late April this year. Finally, an end to a long and snowy winter. :)
The calls of the loons pay tribute to the end of a fine day in Northern Minnesota. Perfect, except for the mosquitoes.

A bit of sunlight penetrated the dark woods here just before sunset, highlighting this small plant on the forest floor.

Taken in the early morning on a crisp and slightly misty day in October.
Captured on a misty morning while hiking through restored upland prairie in a local nature reserve.
Taken on Sand Creek in the Minnesota River Valley late in the afternoon in early October.

This boardwalk crosses Woodlake Marsh, located in the heart of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. The clouds on the horizon filtered the setting sun just enough to enable me to capture the foreground detail.
This sunset was captured at the end of a long hike along the Minnesota River near the Mall of America. A couple of corporate office complexes are in the foreground.
Taken while out hiking about an hour before sunset. I used Photoshop to balance the exposure between the light and dark areas.
A fine summer evening on the shore of a local metropolitan-area lake.
