A few shallow water rocks and their reflections, plus some lakeshore vegetation, provided a bit of an abstract image.
Shot early in the morning in late May, when the sun was just rising above the treetops and penetrating the depths of the forest.
Taken at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The "portal" is a sculpture inscribed on the inside of the circle with information about maple trees. However, I prefer to think of it as a gateway into the imagination.
The calm after the storm. Taken at the end of a hot, stormy summer day, when the humidity makes it feel like you're breathing water vapor.
Taken while hiking along the Minnesota River, trying desperately to outrun the mosquitoes. I did not succeed. The break in the trees opens onto the river, which provided only temporary relief from the nasty critters. They simply waited with patience and glee for my inevitable return to the deeply wooded trail.
A gentle October evening on the shore of Bush Lake.
Just a simple image captured on a calm evening near sunset.
Mother Nature paints her sun-kissed evening clouds upon a blue canvas.
A look back at April to a time when the sky was falling.
A final glimpse of the setting sun as dark clouds move in to claim the night.
The sinking sun about to be swallowed up by the gray clouds rising out of the west.
Hanging onto autumn.
Thank you, my friends, for your astute and very kind suggestions on Stones. I went back to the bin to see what else I had in there and found this one.
Decisions, decisions...Stay and get the shot, or turn and run?
A tumble of rocks extending out into the lake. Normally, these rock are submerged, but the water level was very low.
While out trying to photograph some stormy weather, I stopped to take a few shots of these office towers. The storm hit shortly after this shot was taken. On this occasion, I made it back to my car and avoided getting wet.
Not a lot of drama in this sunset, just some calming blue sky with a touch of pink.
Sunset after the storm.
A bit of marsh vegetation shot against the setting sun.
Just a couple of marshland wildflowers soaking up the morning sun.
