Somesville on a Sunny Morning Uploaded: 06/09/13 3:16 AM GMT

Image: Somesville on a Sunny Morning

Mount Desert Island, Maine. A rework from the bin, this one in b/w. The Somesville Selectmen's Building and bridge set beside, and reflected in, a stream, across the street from a mill pond and Somes Sound, is a pretty scene anytime of day. Enjoy!

On the Rocks Uploaded: 05/05/13 2:33 AM GMT

Image: On the Rocks

Acadia National Park - Mount Desert Island - Maine. Flood tide covering the rocky shore on a sunny summer day. It makes a nice DT.

Glastonbury, Connecticut, USA. Afternoon sun on autumn color trees, at the gorge rock wall. Enjoy!

Cotton Hollow Pool Uploaded: 03/05/13 2:44 AM GMT

Image: Cotton Hollow Pool

Glastonbury, Connecticut, USA. The last of a series of falls opens to a pool of water in Roaring Brook beneath autumn trees. B/W was used for contrast of sunlight and shade in the scene.

Or, is it a 'B'? Or is it ...?

Cotton Hollow Uploaded: 02/24/13 2:46 AM GMT

Image: Cotton Hollow

Glastonbury, Connecticut, USA. On an autumn afternoon, water rushes over a rock table below the breached dam that powered a large cotton mill in the 1800s. Bracketed three-exposure HDR image. Enjoy!

The Homestead Uploaded: 02/13/13 2:33 AM GMT

Image: The Homestead

The Loomis Homestead is the oldest house in Windsor, Connecticut, USA, located on the campus of Loomis Chaffee School. The oldest part of the house is now the south ell, built by Joseph Loomis in 1640. His son, Deacon John Loomis built the main section in 1788.

Farmington River Uploaded: 02/10/13 3:15 AM GMT

Image: Farmington River

Windsor, Connecticut, USA. After heavy rains, the Farmington River flooded the surrounding woods. This turn of the river has partially washed out the trail on the high bank on which we were walking. But, it was a pretty scene, never the less.

Almost Autumn Uploaded: 02/07/13 2:52 AM GMT

Image: Almost Autumn

Windsor, Connecticut, USA. From the bin - a scene snapped in the Windsor Center River Walk of the flooded Farmington River. Enjoy!

Tybee Island Fishing Pier Uploaded: 12/03/12 12:56 AM GMT

Image: Tybee Island Fishing Pier

Tybee Island, Georgia, USA. A recent project has been to rework photos taken two years ago on a South Carolina / Georgia trip. (I was not satisfied with the photo work at the time.) This shot under the fishing pier on Tybee Island Beach seemed to be begging for some HDR work in B/W. I created three images from the original, one +2 exposure stops, one -2 exposure stops, plus the original, then merged them in HDR and converted it to B/W. Enjoy!

Bull Cromwell Uploaded: 10/30/12 3:22 AM GMT

This skull hangs on the wall of a small horse stable in town. Were this a mere ten miles south, it would be Bull Durham (CT). Maybe this is a cousin. Enjoy!

On an Autumn Morning Uploaded: 10/23/12 1:50 PM GMT

Image: On an Autumn Morning

Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. From my house, as the sun began to burn off the morning fog, the rays of light filtered through the trees in the neighboring woods. Enjoy!

Dianthus Uploaded: 05/15/12 2:28 AM GMT

Cromwell, Connecticut, USA. More showers today - more water beaded flowers. These little blooms are about 2 cm in diameter on stems about 15 cm high. Enjoy!

Higher Power - For Susanne Uploaded: 02/20/12 11:13 AM GMT

Image: Higher Power - For Susanne

Westbrook, Connecticut, USA. Susanne - Just as clouds draw their strength from the bodies of water, may you find strength from many friends who surround you, and know that a greater power is helping you find this strength.

Cold and Lonely Uploaded: 02/18/12 8:40 PM GMT

Image: Cold and Lonely

Westbrook, Connecticut, USA. At Middle Beach, this lone gull was standing at water's edge, while each tidal wave rolled past him. If he only had more than a bird brain, he might have moved. (Of course, I write this knowing that I sat on a low rock seawall in the cold to take this photo. If I only had more than...) Enjoy!

Hmmm - What is it? Uploaded: 02/04/12 10:52 PM GMT

Image: Hmmm - What is it?

Riverton, Connecticut, USA. What is it? I know - do you? After the contest, I'll post it. In the meanwhile - enjoy guessing! Post-Contest: This is a closeup of blown glass vases. Another posting in my gallery shows them on display at the Peter Greenwood Studio.

Red Squirrel Redo Uploaded: 01/12/12 2:01 PM GMT

Denali, Alaska, USA - July 2011. In August, I posted an image of Rocky, after he found a mushroom and carried it to a tree branch and munched on it there. I reworked it with cropping and different post-photo work. Enjoy! Post note: The squirrel is eating some fungi, which, along with spruce cones, is the staple of its diet.

Fog on the Lake - Early Morning Uploaded: 01/07/12 1:44 AM GMT

Image: Fog on the Lake - Early Morning

Anchorage, Alaska, USA - July 2011. From the train to Denali, fog is lifting from the lake nestled in the mountains with their glaciers, 2 of the 100,000 in the state. Enjoy!

Denali Peek-a-Boo Uploaded: 12/30/11 3:22 AM GMT

Image: Denali Peek-a-Boo

Talkeetna, Alaska, USA. On the train from Whittier to Denali National Park, Denali slowly revealed itself as clouds cleared away. Visible here is the shorter north peak, with the taller south peak still blocked by clouds. Enjoy!
