A Call for Calendar Images

In order to get the caedes.net calendar out in time for the holiday season and New Years I'm going to need to accelerate the selection of images used for the calendar. I will choose 12 images. They will be in four distinct catagories (the four seasons). So I'm particularly interested in photos which are typical for either Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter. If you would like one of your images used in the calendar then please post in this discussion a list of images that I can choose from. Please use the image's filename instead of it's title. So that the calendar will be as inexpensive as possible (less than $19) it will be sold at no profit to the website. Please keep in mind the resolution of the photos that you submit. You will need to have a version of the photo that is at least 1600x1200 pixels for good print quality.

If your image is chosen please email the highest resolution version that you have (PNG or very low commpression JPG prefered). You'll notice that there are 13 images listed, I'm thinking about using one for the cover. I'm not sure yet though.

You can use Delusionist-1097944722.jpg it was taken during the late summer if that helps... I also have a much higher resolution image that you can use for printing which would be better. You can also use Delusionist-1094427050.jpg in which I also have a much higher resolution image, I think the full size images were total of 8+MP. Delusionist-1098687600.jpg might be useable for the fall season if you'd like. Really I wouldn't object if you used any picture from my gallery ;) If you choose one and want a higher res images please let me know so I can e-mail them or link them to you for downloading. :) I hope your selecting goes easily and well :)

This calendar should be fantastic! There are so many great images depicting the seasons on caedes... naturally you have permission to use any of mine... being from Queensland I don't have any decent winter images ;-). But for Summer: Floating; Sailboat; Rowboat; Broken Head; Branches; or Prime Real Estate (I could provide the original without a watermark). For Spring: Fern or Magpie Lark; and for Autumn Melbourne Oak.

Given the standard of photography on the site though I really don't expect any of my images to be used. Choosing just 12 will be a mammoth task! May I suggest though, that we avoid using more than one photo by the same author to get a broad spectrum of authors if possible.

If you think them good enough, you can use any of my images! Perhaps Caribbean Beach (mia04-1097001189) for summer or Spring Blossom (mia04-1089562002) for spring, but also any other picture. Most of them I have also at higher resolutions.

Not having photos in my gallery, I can't offer any, but could you consider varying the countries represented as well as the authors? I realise there is a disproportion of US authors that might mean more of them, but a range would reflect the international nature of the site, and add interest.

Although most of my winter pictures have been deleted, I still have copies of them, many at higher resolution than 1600 by 1200. In the unlikely event of you wanting to use one, I would be honored. They are mostly a collection of pictures taken at night in a Minnesotan blizzard out in the sticks (my neighborhood). :-)

As a non-contributor of images (so far) I may be alone here when I say this but why sell the calendars so as not to make a profit? This is a superb site that I come back to regularly and I'd be sorry to see it closed down due to lack of funds :)

Maybe Mr. Caedes shouldn't tell us what images he is going to use for the calendar. Then the only way for us to find out what images are on it is to buy it. Just the curiousity of "not knowing if one of your images has been selected" would drive more people to buy one. Bwahahaha! ;cP

Wow, I'm going to be published! How exciting. This is going to be one breathtaking calendar. My original photo will be on its way to you shortly.

Just my 2 cents re the cover: I think using one of the above images would be fine (I think the cover should reflect what's inside) and we could add some text and the Caedes spider on top. Maybe we could even have an impromptu contest to design it?

What a great idea. I'm sure to buy one. Is there a specific date when the calenders will be able to ship? I'd like to buy maybe a couple for friends at work, and relatives in other states. All these images are fantastic btw, it will make a great compliment to my caedes.net poster/picture.
