Adobe was kind enough to supply DigitalFX with additional photoshop products to reward the strong efforts of our younger set. The rewards are based on several things...first is the quality the candidates submissions to Caedes, second is their willingness to help others and to make comments...general participation in our community. Third...do they have/can they afford the high cost of professional tools. The idea is to get the tools into the hands of deserving young people who will take the time to learn them well and use them effectively. I've very please to announce that Digital_Angel is the winner of a fresh copy of Photoshop CS2. Her work exhibits a broad range of visual talent, sensitivity and creative ability. She works with the freeware GIMP which is an outstanding product, but it's not Photoshop. She is 16 and and a sophmore in highschool. She wants to go to college to study digital graphic arts. Her talent runs from exceptional documentary and scenic digital photography to sophisticated artistic manipulation. I hope you all visit her gallery here and send her some nice congratulations...she deserves it.
IN THE NEXT CONTEST I'll be looking at older members and members who may be disabled, especially those who cannot afford some of the fancier software. Do NOT submit your own name. If you know someone that you feel should be nominated, please PM DigitalFX directly with your suggestion, telling a little bit about why you are nominating this person. They should have high Karma, have a history of making. meaning full comments, not a lot of "Wow." type comments, but helpful ones. They should be older than 50, the older the better and their work should be outstanding. Most of all they must not have Photoshp 7 or higher. Before version 7 is okay. I don't want to be swamped with a lot of nominations, so just people who are extremely worthy, very active on Caedes and show a lot of talent. Thank you. DFX
Update: I forgot to mention two things in my announcement about the DigitalFX's Silent Contest strikes again...first, The NEXT CONTEST will involve older people as I suggested, but I'm also looking for people with disabilities at any age.
Second, is pretty exciting. Adobe and I are looking to profile some "out of the box" users of Photoshop such as older people, disabled, and of course our young folks. They will work through me, so don't worry that Adobe is going to be coming after you. I'll make the contact and set things up if you're interested.
So please let me know about older/and/or disabled members. It's an opportunity for fame if not fortune. Again, please PM me with information on any members who are disabled or in otherwise difficult straits so that they can be considered for a little adobe pickme up. Please only nominate folks you know do not have photoshop 7 up. Ulead has also indicated that they might be interested in participating by offering some copies of the excellent new Photoimpact which has aweome new tools, especially for people who want smart tools that do most of the clever work.
