Code of Conduct updates

Submitted by caedes 01/17/11 2:49 AM GMT

We have recently made a change to the Code of Conduct in order to clarify a point concerning use of outside images and source attribution. The changes are on sections 2.a and 2.b. We have also made available to the moderators a tool which will make it very easy to search for elements of an uploaded image on the web. The bottom line is that you should be diligent in properly attributing source images for your uploads. These changes were made primarily to reinforce our commitment as a community to original artwork and to ensure the protection of the artistic rights of artists here and around the world.

If there are 7 comments, why am I seeing only one?

There are few situations in life that cannot be honourably settled, and without any loss of time, either by suicide, a bag of gold, or by thrusting a despised antagonist over the edge of a precipice on a dark night. -- Kai Lung

And now there are 9 comments. I'm sure they were probably removed due to troll~ish type or spam~ish content.

At any rate, I agree with Les...yay !

Suggestion:

The main page is so hidden that most do not even know where it is, I think you should put "HOME PAGE" as the first item in the main menu on the left, with a subtitle "News". I believe most did not notice this topic. Visitors even less have an idea where the homepage is. Most go direct to their galleries or visitors go to galleries of the artists, and nothing calls attention to the homepage, only a very little house at the bottom, only a few persons notice this. I saw a lot of confusion in this aspect with members and not members... Only regular and older members knows the path.

Important issues like this should be sent directly to all members as a message, or at least the call to come to read this topic.

"I think you should put "HOME PAGE" as the first item in the main menu on the left, even with a subtitle "News", as subtitle."

Like the "News" item idea. Good good suggestion. :o)

Perhaps the best way to ensure everyone reads the latest critical changes in Caedes, is to not allow the posting of any photos until the member has read and clicks it off as “Process Complete”.
I agree the Home Page was a mystery to me as to where to find and gain entry to. I too think it should be the very first item on the menu to the left of the page. Sub Articles could be listed here or listed after one clicks on the Home Page block. The Caedes Code of Conduct would be the opening topic and a “Process Complete” check-off to indicate the member has read and understood the Code. Until the process completed is checked, do not allow anyone to post photos.

@MackMan...you can click "Process Complete" without reading it first, no one will notice!!

Like the "News" item idea too, perhaps when there is news it could be highlighted in red, so we all know that there is news from the Big Boss!

Hop Scotch is the name of this game... moved it down two slots! Now back here... for good! That project mentioned in my sig has been cancelled at 'caedes' request. :o)

:o) Just moving the comment above you, Les, to below you... just wanna get my new temporary signature displayed here! :o)

There is a hidden click on...

   ˇ ˇ ˇCaedesˇ ˇ ˇ
Desktop Wallpaper

at the top-left of any page! It brings one to the same Homepage to which [Home page (News)] brings us.

Edit: Les, little is not the word... teeny-tiny is! I had 'heard' about that Home
[icon] before but could never find it... and because you mentioned
it... I was determined to find it! After about 5 or 6 pages, I noticed it
and now I see it on every page!

And another hidden click, as referenced by Con in his above post. That of, the little 'home' icon in the lower right-hand side.

Clicking on either of these will bring 'you' to the front page of the site.
