Resizing program needed

Hi y'alls. I need to downsize an image from ~8000X6000 to a manageable size, 1600X1200. I don't have photoshop (or the money to buy it; at least for now), I can't figure out how to do it with Paint (it keeps cropping it instead) and Picasa won't do it. Anybody have any (cheap) suggestions? Or should I just follow the professionals' example and buy Photoshop? And if so, perhaps there is some other application? 'cuz I'm used to workinng with Corel Draw 8 (if anybody still has it)

Try IrfanView or PhotoFiltre. Both are free and easy to use

Photofiltre is the easier program to use than Infran View, and to me you can do a lot more with it too..

Faststone Image Viewer works great too, and also has a lot of other great features, and is also free. (Now Keith, don't pout!)

Umm, just curious, how in the world do you have a 8000x6000 image!?

Photofiltre is fun, easy, it's what I use on my dad's computer.

Thanks o much. The reason that I've got a 8000X6000 (with plus or minus 400 pixels) is that I scanned some drawings of mine. And put the resolution up to 800, so those things came out big. I actually had difficulty e-mailing them on my laptop: I had to do them one by one. But yeah, I don't think Caedes will accept such a GINORMOUS image. So I have to resize it. Oh, and Im making progress!!! :) Thanks again.

Microsofts Image Resizer powertoy would do the job pretty well. Otherwise paint.net from www.getpaint.net is pretty good.

You could try Faststone image resizer.

http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm

I found that you could also have copyright/name info put on each image (like on bottom right, etc.)

So, say you had 20 images, with 1 click, it's all done for you.
