I came across this and found the information contained in it to be extremely interesting. I have shared this with a few friends and had the thought, that perhaps some others might find it useful and inspirational.
Here is a synopsis of the tutorial:
"Fairly detailed photo retouching techniques using a gorgeous photo at the ocean. Plenty of before and after samples, actions to download, and more, to bring out colors, remove unwanted areas, cropping, and much more. Good insight here. The tutorial uses Photoshop CS2, but the author emphasizes that the techniques can be used in other versions and applications, too."
Go here for a read of Kevin Mills and some of his suggestions in "Seeing Beyond the Capture."
p.s. This is also to stave off annexation by the Offtopics threads. We shall never surrender. :oP
*prepares to lend Keith his umbrella ... once the rain starts ... signifying the 'flood' that is to come* :oP
The information contained may be quite familiar to those more versed with the software ... but I did like the fact that he included screen captures of the various menus as he went along.
Seemed like a very good primer and then some, on a number of aspects. Glad you found it interesting Jacqueline.
Picture this ... grade school ... math class ... and me saying; "Yes Miss McQuinlan?" ... everytime (or just about) ... she said 'less than' during our algebra lessons.
Oh yeah ... I was the teachers' pet, lol. I became intimately acquainted with 'the corner.'
As in ... "go stand in the corner and think about what you did young man, maybe then you will stop interrupting the class."
Don't be so lame,
I'm not to blame,
for you being such a pain,
and driving the teacher insane.
You got just what you deserved,
you may consider yourself served!
