Help with Voting

I'm kind of new here, so I was wondering how you can find what people voted your image, through the random voting system. I've gotten votes on my images, yet I have no idea how to view those votes. I could really use some help, thanks.

You need a certain amount of votes to see your c-index score. So if you only have 5 votes on your image, you wont be able to see the score yet, but you will when it gets to something like 12ish votes.

To view them, just go to an image in your gallery and look at the score right next to the thumbnail...

...or under "Control Panel" at the left of the screen, click on "Caedes Control" which will bring up all your images and the scores/votes/etc for them.

Hmm... I see. So it doesn't give you what each person individually gave your image?

Thanks for the help.

Um nope...its a culmination(?) of all the votes you recieve.

..off the subject; i should seriously start reading some dictionaries, I cant think of a better word that culmination for this. :S

there was a time when you could view a chart showing the spread of votes on each image ... but it lead to upheaval .. and a bunch of questions starting with WHY

for example

Q: .. why did somebody vote ZERO on my image

A: .. their momma didn't raise them right

-laughs- I think you're looking for accumulation. Thanks so much for all your help Noah.

Wow. Guess people couldn't handle the thought that their photo sucks. Constructive critisism apparently not a good enough reality check. Thanks Keifer.

The problem was that not all images with low votes sucked though. There are any number of reasons people might vote 0. Caedes changed the voting system last year and a lot of people were upset with it, so they voted 0. Probably some really bored people get their kicks from it too. A number cannot be considered the same thing as constructive criticism when you don't know why they really voted that low.

all zeros cast should be investigated ... we could designate a "zero-crew" .. they could have shirts with a zero on the back ... and .. a baseball cap with a big "L" on the forehead .. the meaning of which can be determined later .. don't stop me, I'm brainstorming

Hmmm... that's true Emily. People weren't nessecarily giving their honest vote. In that case, I can understand why Cades changed the system. It's probably better that we don't know who voted what on each photo. It could encourage us too much, or discourage us too much. If we really want constructive critisism, look at the comments. Thanks Emily.

Well, I can't say that I haven't given one or two 0's. I felt I was fairly honest, but some photos or images did not look so good in my view.

LOL, Keifer.

It's just that the comments count far more than votes, in my opinion. If people focus only on the c-index, they could be very disappointed.

As far as I recall, I've only given one low vote and it was because the person had just uploaded a solid-colored background that anyone could've done in a paint program by hitting the fill button.

Definitely.

That'd be a good reason... Why on earth would anyone upload a solid background? :)

somebody here uploaded a blue image that had VERY subtle white lines ... then they posted a forum thread touting it to be the best image ever .... THEN .. they created another acct and responded to the original post with a resounding "why, yes it is the best image ever"

then *caedes bit their head off in that .. that way he has with words .. pointing out that is against the regs to have a conversation with one's self

and they haven't shared anymore "best pic evar's" with us

there's just no figgerin' some people

I would like to see the votes on my images, then i would only look at the high ones. :)

I would HATE to see which individuals voted on my pictures. Especially when one plummets with one extra vote added, and has obviously gone against the trend of the previous ones. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned - and my fury is hellish when I am scorned. lol :) If I knew who it was I may even vote a 0 (something I have never done) on their next upload :) (No I wouldn't, not really)
Anyway I never look at the c-index any more - well not that often . . . just sometimes . . .more often than I mean to . .. .
