i have apop 2.02 and have downloaded 2.05 4 times thus far. the programs i use are paintshop pro 7 and photo filtre. this is all i have. when i did 2.04 i could render a colored background to a flame, go to paintshop and put it together. with 2.05, all i get is a black background no matter what background color the flame is rendered in. can anyone out there help me, please!!!!!!!!! does anyone have the same programs and can offer advice?
thanks for listening.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking here, but you can change the color of the render background in 2.05 by pressing the adjust button (on the toolbar: view --> adjust, or just F5), selecting the rendering tab, and changing the background color in the bottom left.

is that what you're looking for?

i do render in a color other than black in apop but when i bring the flame up in paintshop to add or enhance the flame, the background will be black no matter how many times i try to change it to the orginal flame background color.

are you by any chance rendering as a PNG .. ?? ... PNG's are rendered with a transparent background and photofiltre might be giving it a black background

to check this .. click on the little gear cog (or hit CTRL+R) .. at the top of this window are to entry fields for input .. the lower one of the two is for FILE NAME .. and also .. IMAGE TYPE ... click on the folder and select JPEG

and make sure you set 100% jpeg quality on the GENERAL TAB of the options screen if you choose to render as JPEG

if this doesn't fix your issue .. come back and say .. "nope, guess again"

(*note: .. Larry (razorjack) uses photofiltre .. maybe he would know*)

hmmm I render in PNG and i've changed the colour of the background and it comes out just fine.. Go to options -> Display and check that the PNG is set on disabled that way it will render in whatever background you choose..

I agree with Jacqueline, I always render in the PNG format. The background color comes out with whatever color I select. It doesn't change for me either when I reopen it with either PSP or Photofiltre.
