Well - the first preview release is available for download but it looks like unless you're prepared to pay for the full version - you will get some serious limitations such as:
Render Size Maximum: 800x600
Render Detail Maximum: 1.0
Antialiasing Maximum: 3
Number of Rendered Populations: 3
this will also apparently be carried over to the final release of the free version. the purchase price is $200 or $300 if you want animation too - knock $100 off those prices if your are upgrading from a paid for previous version. that makes it exactly the same price as the new Vue 6 Esprit and $100 more than Vue 6 Easel.

I tried it and found the rendering to be much slower than the old version.

same here - but they do say on the website that it is very slow - not the best selling feature I grant you.
