I haven't thought of a new subject yet. Plus I wanted a break since organising the last one was rather exhausting for Camerahound and myself. Once I decide on a topic, I am going to make sure everything is decided up front this time, as last time there was too much debate about how the contest should work while it was underway. Anyway it shouldn't be too much longer.

Sam,
Are we going to do it the same way as last time, with a selected group of members going through and helping to pick the semi-finalists?
It seemed to work pretty good on our end. :c)

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

That's exactly the sort of thing we need to establish. Might take a while to acheive a concensus, especially when we are all here at different times, but it's much easier to do it now than, say, when we have two days left before the winners are due to be announced :-)

I liked the way it worked last time.

Also, Sam, I like the topic of 'Decay' for a contest - how about that? I can already see pictures of old buildings and abandoned cars in my mind.

Maybe a discussion board thread with member suggestions for contest themes to use as a reference for ideas for future contests might be a good idea. :c)

What about making a conetst of contest topic ideas suggestions? This will still buy you time for resting a bit while keeping the "action" feeling on the site and also making a contest?
For an example;everyone who deserves will attend to Contest Of Conetest İdeas, will suggest one clearly and at the end of the list it will be voted by others. And a contest topic which is chosen by the attenders of the site will take even more attention.Thanks. ;)

Cem: the rule was to give the choice to the last winner.
Sam: we don't need to have always complicated topics. From time to time, I would like to have some "simple" contests like: 'a free expression about a single tree', or 'insects close-up', or 'how do you see a window'...

Pierre, the reason those topics are difficult is because of the multiple programs people use(those are more ideally suited for photography)...the idea for a contest is so that everyone can contend and have a reasonable chance of winning...and also so that we get to use the great creativity we all have(my personal favorite :D)

...hence the reason I feel contests that are broad and "complicated" topics are more "ideal" for topics

Brett: some topics can be used with photos or computer art (example = tree). But I agree it's difficult to find a subject for both art. We can have a contest once for computer art and once for photos... All is possible.
But I just wanted to say: let us stay simple :-)

How about the human experience, something like struggle., strife or even joy?

OK guys, I have decided on the contest topic... however, in order to teach you the virtue of patience, I'm not going to tell you what it is yet... you'll just have to wait until the contest is officially ready to begin... ;-)

BTW I decided not to go with "Light" after I saw that we had already had the "Light and Shadow" contest, I forgot about that...
