Does anyone know anything about Lightroom the new photo editing software? Is it as varied in use as Photo Shop?

Hi Cindy, Lightroom is still in development at the moment and I think you can still download and try the program here.

my understanding of it .. and I COULD be wrong ... is that it is more of a RAW format pre-processing tool .. for setting your exposure-values, contrast, etc .. on your RAW data (if your camera shoots RAW) ... I don't think this is a photoshop type of deal

Adobe swallowed up a company about the time of announcing LIGHTROOM that made this type of software and incorporated their tech into LIGHTROOM

Lightroom is released now rebranded as Photoshop Lightroom and as keith pointed out it is more of a raw processing and file management tool than an image editing program. Adobe are offering at a $100 discount for orders placed this month.
