No - it wasnt because it was a suspected rip - it was due to the inflamatory and abusive nature of the description that accompanied it. Please feel free to reupload it with a revised description that gets your point across without contradicting any of the conduct rules on the site.
There is nothing inflammatory and abusive about telling people I do not expect a good review, a factual one, if people are not educated in the fine arts. Many people claim here to want a real review besides hearing non-honest remarks such as how lovely, very clever, spot-on, etc. Some of us actually know we could benefit/learn to produce better art if others would take the time to educate themselves about terminology used in reviewing pieces vs reading messages that are frequently banal and used to gain support and friendships in hopes of higher c-indexes .I am not the first to complain about the lack of honest opinions/feedback; I may be the first to spell it out so clearly. I cannot tolerate being told I am abusive for speaking the truth-especially when I have received reviews which, in addition to being the above, have been plainly hostile..in one I was told to quit altogether producing work.(Thank you, Keifer.) Apparently, my sense that it matters who you are as to whether you can say this or that is accurate-just as my saying reviews here a largely non-existent. I do not want or need pap.
It seems to me one is not allowed to write as they wish here;if he/she does, it is termed abusive and dismissed.
Since when is censorship of speech ok?/
I suggest you let the MEMBERS decide whether or not my words accompanying artwork are inflammatory, etc......You may find some think they is long-ago needed and are glad to read them.
Derain - censorship doesn't apply here. This is a privately owned website and the OWNER of the site can allow or disallow on THEIR site whatever they wish. If they decide your comments are inappropriate then they are, just as if you decided that comments on your website were inappropriate and decided to remove them, then they were inappropriate. End of story.
I do not mind the fact that it was. What I do question, is the fact it was done without explanation.
