just in case you didn't see this on the photography board...

I just wanted to say a big WELL DONE to a lot of the photographers on the site as the standard of images has been incredible lately. I'm usually just a CG artist, but I've just posted my first photo which seems totally inadequate compared to most of the work I've seen recently. WELL DONE again.

Thanks Paul. Being one of the most ancient photographers on the site, I must say that the photo's standard has really grown up...

It certainly has. I think that as the site has grown in popularity it has attracted artists of a higher skill level. The result (sadly for us old-timers) is that we no longer are the hotshots that we once were. The competition has gotten a lot better. Of course on the flip side we have mentors now who can teach us new tricks and give us new ideas to help us improve.

It’s nice of you to say that Paul. I am amazed at how high our photographer’s standards have risen in the last few years.

No kidding, guys. Just opening the "New Images" and looking at the first pages of new photographs has become so impressive lately.
