Why is there no more artist spotlight each month? I always look forward to that. And is there a way you can show who was nominated for it? How many votes, maybe insert a new tab that says "vote for the artist of the month" Just a thought....Gregg.

As moderators stumble on the path to enlightenment (ie=burnout) .. the functions they performed are left to shrivel in the noontime sun and blow away on the breeze

a moment of silence, please, for the fallen .. bow your heads

Piner informally resigned his position as Consul some time ago and is thus no longer running the artist spotlight. I used to do it before him and would probably take it up again but since I have no internet access at home at the moment there wouldn't be much point. So until someone else volunteers to take over I guess it won't be happening. Basically the person who runs the artist spotlight needs to do the following: 1. Let it be known that they are doing so and invite nominations in some public forum, ie here or on the home page as a news item; 2. compile and count the nominations (ensuring that the nominee has not been spotlighted already) 3. Notify the artist who has been nominated and ask them to write a biography 4. write an introduction in the form of a news item and post it on the homepage (by clicking "submit news"). Unless Caedes had some objection I see no reason why this couldn't be handled by any member of the site (not necessarily mods) or even a group of people (which might help avoid/delay the "burnout" mentioned above).
