I've noticed alot of people don't have a website. Quite possibly, alot just don't want one. :-)
But incase you do, ya might try zoomshare.com, where I've got a small little site. It really is pretty cool for being "Free", and people with Code experience, can really do quite alot more than I can. Backgrounds, videos, songs....
I just used the template to set up my front page. It also gives you 10 pages to work with. Anyway, just a thought, for anyone who wants a decient looking Website.....For FREE. :-)
Here's the Link. http://www.zoomshare.com/?source=zoombar or, you can click on the link on my site below, and in the top right hand corner of the site, click on that link.
It's something neat and personal, to send to friends. And Yes....I DO have Caedes in my "Links" page. :-) :-)
Glad ya liked it Lyn.
If ya make a site, PM me your link. I'd love to see it.
I really like the way the site's run, and the people who run the site. Super friendly, and instantanious responsive when you ask for help in the "Forums" of the site. Good folk. :-)
Like I said, anybody with Code experience, can do alot more with the site than I do. But, it's fun for me, and fits my need. And like I said...It's FREE!! :-)
Just found your User Spotlight page and the interview - well done !!
I dont think I would have the brains to make a site - I did one once through geocities - took ne weeks to get it right and then I lost interest :)
But . I may go back and have another look at ZS
www.piczo.com is another totally free one but it does have a really messy code in itself and some adverts..it's not as great as I'd like.
However it can be used by anyone, even with code experience at all.
I looked at your site on Piczo Bonnie. Very nice looking. Quite a few Popups though.
That's one of the things I really like about zoomshare, the adds are very subtle, and NO popups! I also like the "Forums" in zoomshare. There are Tutorials on how to do all sorts of things to really enhance your site, and the site Administrator Sarah, (Sare) is just a pleasure to work with if you ever have a problem or question. Just post it in the forum, and she'll get back to you, usually in a couple hours.
Oh, I said you can have 10 pages....How about 100! :-) Like I said, The Forums under zoomshare/Help & FAQ's is where you can really find out what you can do with your site. You do have to sign up for a site before you can access the forums though.
Take a look at my site Bonnie. That will give you an idea what a complete amature did. :-)
Once you sign up for a site and get it online, it looks like the one Pierre just setup, depending on what background you originally select. Then, when you open your site, at the bottom of the front page you see "You can start editing your web site by clicking here."
Just click that and that takes you to the "Tools". The Webpage editor is where you set up your pages. It's realy pretty bullet proof...even for me! :-) :-)
Anyway, It's just fun to be able to have my Own complete site, for sharing with friends or whatever! :-)
BTW Noah, they do work now, but honestly....they didn't yesterday. I was gonna say something, but Lyn did first. :-)
I'll give it a go and see what it's like, I'm always fiddling with sites.
Eventually, once I've learnt more code I'll be building one from scratch as it were.
If you are a Mac user and you have the Mobile Me/.Mac acct, they give you 20GB for hosting/storing. You can also use the iWeb software on your mac to author and upload the page. If you look at my web site as listed on my profile you can see a template from iWeb and the Google Adsense integration too.
I got my domain from GoDaddy though.
"What are you talking about lyneve? They work fine... "
Yes Noah, they do now. Not sure why they wouldn't on that day - must have been extra busy or something because the first one was ok.
No, it was not my machine!
Ok ok, I'll admit, the links didnt work at first. I was just seeing how far I could take the joke. After three years on caedes, nobody has realized that I'm hardly ever serious? =P
