working on this new icon, attempting to get freakier and freakier with each version. This one doesnt have the funky horse eye cropping, but its still scarier in my opinion. Its set on a 15 second loops so you will have to stare at it for a bit to get the animation.
Anyway, thought about making the entire animation much longer, close to a minute, throwing in some blinking, and making the eye turn towards the viewer much slower (to perhaps look more freaky?), then turn back quickly as tho its been "caught". What do you think? Overboard?
I wish I could figure this out. Anyway I'd like to see the pupil a little more distinct to give the impression that it's focused on me. And maybe to hang there a little longer. Still, the freak factor is there!
good call, I think its a little off too, gotten some interesting suggestions from others as well, some say they'd like to see it reverse, like stares at u, then looks away for a sec gonna work on it a bit more
time to take more pics of my eye!
well, then length of it was going to be even longer, I wanted the viewer to be freaked out or surprised by it if they actually caught it, and possibly even unsure it happened.
I agree with the other posts, "the freak factor is there". I think this whole eye idea is a good one. It seems that when it moves to the shortened location, it is looking at the person to your left (you meaning anyone sitting at any computer), not actually at the viewer. Should this be changed for the full stare effect? Also, I ahve asked this question to others before with no informative answer yet, but how does one go about making a moving icon? How can you upload several frames to filter through, and then set the time frame for it?
thanks for the input, I think you are right about it being focussed to the left a bit
i deleted my tutorial on animated icon creation, I'll try and find it and resubmit.
