Hey guys, I'm not good in drawing BUT I LOVE WATCHING IT.

I wanted to know, are all the pictures on this site computer-done?
I say this, because i saw some pictures that look 100% real... So I want to know if some pictures are just taken from a camera and put on the site, or are ALL the pictures done by you guys.

It is a combination of things -- photos, 3d art, fractals, illustration. The page with the image's comments will tell you what it is. And it is generally safe to assume that a member did it themselves, although I do believe there are a few exceptions, like the NASA pics some people upload.

Gabe - what an interesting question. "Are all the pictures on this site computer done?" Hmmm. . .now your interesting answer: "does it matter?" what you should be asking yourself is "can I do the same?" then you should tell yourself; "heck yes I can" your next question to all of us who have gone thru the same thing is "how do you create those wonderful pictures?" Then we will answer with just one word "practice" I also love to watch what others have created, but I can assure you, doing the creating is more fun! Hope to see some of your efforts soon.

While trying to create good pictures, I feel as if I am standing on the edge of Insanity. There is a door. I found myself knocking on the door. The door opened.. . . I was knocking from the inside. Oh Rats!

Free and Open-Source software.

Search of discussion forums for 'freeware'.

Bit outdated, as some links might not work in some instances. However, google is your friend ... if need be ... to find, and if available ... an updated site to visit.

For example:

Apophysis is used to create a number of the images found under the "Galleries" (left hand side menus, top) >> "Abstract".

And as Emily noted, in the accompanying narratives and descriptions of the images ... the artist will usually state the program/software used.

Annnnd ... in the case of Apophysis ... go here for a bit of a read and the correct links to the downloads page at sourceforge.net to get the program. Freeware, free to use ... periodically updated, changes made ... from time to time, with subsequent newer releases.

Have fun and look forward to seeing your creative results. Jerry and me will wait here ...

Les - I have a great premonition that it may take more than a few minutes for Gabe to generate some Art. This may sound cruel, but I am tired of tapping fingers and waiting here. Make some sandwich's please, and I will go fetch the fishing boat. I am sure Gabe will have some art ready and posted by the time we get back.

/\ He's a 'cheerleader' in disguise.

Don't let him fool you, Gabe. He even shaved his legs ... this time. :oP

Right, got to pick up some bait ... rustle up some munchies ... some libations as well and prime the outboard.

A nice shore lunch afterwards, take in Gabe's creative efforts ... should be good good.

Casting off in a few Jerry ...
