I really like landscape photographs for my desktop. My question is, is there anyone who has a collection already built up (perhaps mostly from this site) in zip format? Downloading 1000's of images is time consuming, though I don't mind, but perhaps someone else has already done it :)

That would defeat the purpose of the site somewhat, as the respective authors wouldn't be recognized if their images were in a zip file. Also it would mean you wouldn't be commenting or voting on any of the images, even the ones you really liked. Besides, it's fun to spend hours and hours on caedes browsing through all the images... ;-)

1000's of images!!! ... boy that is some sort of desktop file ... you would never get to see them all
