Caedes Stock

I was going to start a new photo manip today and got to thinking.....

It would be great if I could use some works from Caedes instead of going off to another site to get stock images. I'm not proposing starting a stock gallery, but maybe something like an icon or notation that artists could choose to add when uploading their image indicating that the artist gives permission for other Caedes members to use said image to create new works of art.

I know that I would be more than happy to offer the use of some of my images. What do you all think?

I would love to have others work on my images. I don't have the software to refine my images. The only way I can make them in the first place is from pics I scan in, terragen, and a microsoft paintbox. I'd love to let others use my pics and I'd love to see what they did with them. I'm all for it.

Great to know! I was thinking about this more, and I suppose it would actually warrant a separate gallery or one would never know where to find images that are usable. I guess an option when uploading to place in stock gallery as well as in the regular gallery?

But, this may not at all fit into the vision that Caedes has for this site.

You could put them in the Rework gallery I guess.

clever idea... I like it. such a pity that I don have a decent camera... or I could use my dad's... it's only got like a million filters and lenses... I'd have to learn how to use it, but North Dakota has a lot of sites... and it'd be cool, like Elizabeth, I don have the software to really bring out the creativity [currently begging parents and sucking up!! =P]

it seems like your idea of a small icon onto the side of each image put up would be a fairly good idea...perhaps it could be merged into the earlier idea of creative customs icon idea. Just a thought.

Hahaha . . . hey Stephanie, I know how you feel . . . even though I'm nineteen I'm still at the mercy of higher powers . . . drat. How the *&^$ is a nineteen-year-old with no job experience whatsoever supposed to GET a job?! Sheesh . . . every application has three pages full of 'previous experience' stuff to fill out . . . makes me feel VERY small . . . but I'll have to get a job soon. The higher powers are really, REALLY broke, too . . . oh, wait . . . offtopic discussion board topic or not, I'm offtopic of the offtopic . . . oh, shut up before you hurt yourself . . .

Catch-22: You need a job to get experience, you need experience to get a job. Can't win for losing :)

The term comes from a 1961 war novel by Joseph Heller, who referred to an Air Force rule whereby a pilot continuing to fly combat missions without asking for relief is regarded as insane, but is considered sane enough to continue flying if he does make such a request.

Some have too much time on their hands. :-) I would like one too, but I can wait till summer (I probably should considering school).

On to the subject at hand... ;-) I like the idea, but maybe the icon is a little too much for those images already uploaded. For people like Pierre, it is too much to ask even to add such a remark in each image description. I don't know about past images, but could our favorite caedes include an option when uploading for such notice?

My photography skills (or lack of them) have much to be desired, but if, for some odd reason, someone does want to use an image, all of mine are available, but I would prefer to be asked first. I assume most photographers would feel the same.

That would be fine with me. As long as the person lets me know that they are using which ever image they are using.
