May be something, may be nothing just a heads-up. I use AVG Free as my antivirus program and after a recent scan I came up with about 6 or so files that stated a virus was detected. They all came from Apop and was in the form of a GPPS Key. I wanna say a year or so ago I subscribed to a forum…’Digital Talk Forum’, I think. You paid a nominal fee and had to DL some stuff to your PC. Then, each week you’d receive updates for Apop, parameters, scripts, etc. Then after a month or so it was announced that the service would be canceled. Don’t know if anyone else used that service or not, just wanted to make people aware.

As far as the Apop GPPS Key until now my AVG never thought it to be a problem, for the last year any way. Just a couple days ago it showed up. Again, may be something, may be nothing.

Have you scanned for a virus before ? I was subscribed to Digital Talk Forum too & to date, I haven't come up with anything specifically from those files. I use Ad-Aware, btw.

Yes, I scan / clean my PC once a week.

Defrag / Disk cleanup / Window Washer / Registry Mechanic / CCleaner / Malwarebytes / Spybot / AVG Antivirus / Backup (total takes around 2 hours)..ugh!!

Ad-Aware?? What Anti-virus are you running?? Ad-Aware Plus contains anti-virus protection...the freebie doesn't (isn't anti-virus).

ps: My AVG anti-virus either 'cleaned' or 'deleted' the threat and I checked this morning and my Apop 2.08 beta & Apop 2.06_3Dhack work just fine. Seems to be just with the GPPS key which if you lOOk in you 'Program Files' and see a folder called 'Apophysis AQI' then you probably had the GPPS key installed.

Perhaps it was a hoax,sometimes some anti virus programs detect a file as a virus but it is not always a virus,it can be a hoax too.When you check your computer for viruses then do it in safe mode.You can also use Spybot search & destroy which is a good anti spyware program.

I use Spybot and it never finds anything. I guess that's good!! I have good luck with Malwarebytes and CCleaner cleans up the PC very good leaving no traces of personal info. I use it right after I make any purchase online!!

Yes,from what i know,Malwarebytes and ccleaner are good programs too and using these programs after a purchase online is probably not a bad idea,you are a wise guy.
