I just realized there is no category for lakes when I posted a photo named "Lake Lure" I looked for Lakes, there is water, shorelines, landscapes, nature, etc" but no lakes.

Diane, I have wondered that as well. But, then, I always seem to question in what gallery to post! I also wondered if a category for "fog" would also make some sense. Good luck on your question. ~~ John

I assume that anything with water, whether it be a river, ocean, lake, or pond, would fall into the category of Water. Depending on the picture itself, I sometimes put pictures with water in the Landscape gallery. It just depends if the emphasis is on the water, or the surrounding area.

yes - there is already the water and shorlines categories that lakes could fall into so no real need to subdivide still further I would have thought.

I agree. We can't get too specific, otherwise we would end up with lakes, streams, ponds, lochs, rivers etc. This would actually make it harder for people to decide which gallery to upload to, and which gallery to look in..

(*scratches out "chocolate chip", chocolate chip with peanut butter chunks", "chocolate chip with oatmeal and raisins", ... from his 'to do' list, where the 'Cookie Gallery' idea is concerned ... moves onto 'Laundry' ... scratches that one as well ...*)

OK no "Lakes" it only took me 2 years to figure out there was no Lake category, guess I never needed one. How about one called "Trees" instead? Just Kidding!
