I am trying to create a diamond in Bryce, IE a cube that is standing one one corner, with it's opposite corner directly above. However I can't figure out what angles to enter into X,Y and Z to get this to happen. Logically I thought it would be 45 deg. in the X direction, which gets the cube standing on one edge, with the opposite edge directly above; and then I enter 45 in the Z direction to tilt the cube onto it's corner. However that last instrution does not result in what I want. Does anyone know what angles I should be entering??

I don't use Bryce, so I'm not sure which angles you'd need to enter, but if a cube is balanced on one corner with the opposite corner vertically above, the three edges that run out from the bottom corner will each make an angle of 54.74 degrees with the vertical by my calculation. If I understand what you're saying correctly, once you've rotated your cube by 45 deg, if you then rotate it by 35.26 deg (90 - 54.74) it should work......

Thanks Si. That did work but as it turns out the effect I was hoping for isn't going to be possible. Thanks anyway.

I think that want you were actually wanting was a double square pyramid (one square pyramid on top of another upside-down one). Does that sound right?

Yes actualy it does. Oh well back to square one I guess (or double square pyramid one in this case)
