"The image is too large. Try uploading it at 1600x1200 pixels".

I received this message - the image I am trying to upload is already at 1600 x 1200 and is 614 KB. How large is too large for Caedes? I think it's worth uploading and want to share it - but can't get it on!

Can someone please help? thanks :-)

Did you save it in 'standard' jpg mode?

Yes, it is a normal jpeg image. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary when I downloaded it from the camera! I've not done anything to it? Any other ideas Pierre?

You can send it to me by email. I'll compare it with my common settings.

There is a program called 'jStrip' which converts JPGs into more easily uploaded images for many sites. HERE

It may be to large becuase of the 614 kb file size. They are supposed to be uploaded at 500kb.

i dunno, maybe i'm a terrible person, but i always save my jpegs at the '12' setting, so mine are always 800-2500 Mb in size, and i've never had an uploading problem

Ok. Jess uploaded a 1200x1600 photo, in place of a 1600x1200. I think all is right now :-)

Carl: Caedes has changed the site software to recompress everything that's uploaded to make them more download-friendly. It used to be that the site wouldn't accept anything over a certain size, but that seems to have been lifted in favor of the site making a copy at the file size it needs.

^ correct

There is no file size restriction: only a limit on the resolution.
