Caedes has chosen 80 regular members who have the chance to help select the winners for this contest. If you want to take part please go here and cast your vote. We will probably allow 2 or 3 days so don't dilly dally!
Sometimes we use that. This time we decided to use a different system. I'll compare the results between the two systems to see if it was worth it or not. =)
May I remember to Mr. Caedes that since 2 months I only have 5 images in my gallery. And... I was chosen as one of the 80 voters. And I know others with less than 10 images chosen to vote. Why ???
When I counted the number of images a person had I didn't distinguish between visible and invisible galleries. I then accepted any author with an average c-index of more than 75 (or so). It was done by a program, so I doubt that anyone was accidently skipped.
that clears it up, good job caedes.
klas I dont believe your gallery would fit an average c-index quite that high, perhaps time for some gallery dusting :-p
Sure, fair enough. I guess I should feel encouraged to be a bit more jumpy and vain. ^_^ I tend to disregard c-index if I like the image myself. I could only take it seriously if I got a detailed ip logg (or at least user name), or else I don't know what it stands for.
Seriously I don't take the opinion of everybody here as serious as the other. Sure if you are a (fairly) great artist and got quality stuff and opinions to share or a glowing passion to the arts and / or want to what to learn... But the average Joe with no sense of quality in their own work (however it may be praised by others) saying little less then "Nice stuff you got there, like the color." and(/or) voting 0 on your stuff...
Call me narrow minded if you want...It's not a quality stamp at least as far as I'm concerned though. It's who you are not as much as what you do that will decide most votes it seems. I have no other way to explain why some excellent pieces (I'm definitely not referring to my own stuff only here.) get poor c-index and other crappie stuff, in reality little more then snapshots when it's photos or default settings in a cg-image get sky-high ratings (and honestly unduly nice comments).
Just my own take on it I guess. Sure I could delete some stuff and I will some day too I guess - but I really do got better stuff to do than worry about the c-index average in my gallery. I didn't think that was all it was about. ;) (And I will continue to refuse to do so.)
Klas: the next contest should be organised to vote for the future jury of the following contest ;-)
Seriously: my opinion is that you should have been chosen for the jury :-/
The best jury mades the best contest...
I think we all would have had you voting (or at least most of us hehe). But a formula was followed and thats just the way it goes. Perhaps in the next round of voting, you could take the mods, cadre, and contest winners first. Then fill the void by formula.
lol... Thanks. I really don't take it personally. (If I should then it's better to simply tell me. I'm too thickheaded to take small hints. ^_^ (jk!)) I just don't see it as a solution for me to delete all my stuff and just keep the highest rated. Then again I don't see it as a problem. It was just a curiosity I had to satisfy (or how you put it). (Not always the smartest things to follow though on I've noticed (curiosity) but no harm done this time at least (yet...).)

I believe top 80 is referring to those with the average over 75. (this is not the same as how the author list is sorted, that's weighted differently)
Invisible galleries are those visible to only mods. They hold stuff we're not sure about including, are thinking of removing, need to store (ie, contest placeholders), et cetera.
Judging will be open to many of our regular members, so watch this space for details.
