how does the majority of the populuce here at caedes feel about boarders on picture, i know personally i like them whether black or a blurred bit from the picture? i know i see alot of comments saying otherwise, but how to the non-commenting-on-boarders people feel about them?
I think he is referring to frames or mattes :-p. I dont see the problem, they are necessary on images without the right ratio. I dont think anyone just throws them in there for thrills, they are just padding for images that dont fit the 4:3 ratio required for a standard desktop. The only comments that bother me are ones that say: you shouldnt have cropped this I dont like the borders, on an image that was taken in wide angle, stitched, or scanned from film. Which used to happen alot but I dont think so much anymore since discussions on stitching.
Then again, blurry skateboarders could work too :-p
I ussually like em unless the picture sucks:P. I have put them in just cuz i felt like it before. Sometimes it can add an interesting feeling to the picture.
"A piece of toast with butter always lands butter side down, and a cat always lands on its feet. What happens if a piece of toast is tied butter side down to the back of a cat? Does it perpetually hover above the ground in indecision when dropped?"
I don't think they are a padding...I know what you mean, and I have to say it depends. Let's say you have an image, and you really like the middle of it, and hate the tops and bottoms, just cover them up with a big black rectangle and vioala! lol
I think they look nice, but not any image should have them
