The requirements state that the image can be no bigger than 60x60 pixels and that it can't be larger than 5kB. The images I'm trying to use are 60x60, but for some reason, they have 60kBs. How do I get them down to 5kB using Adobe Photoshop? I'm using a G5 Macintosh.

I had the same problem about tewo days ago. I, like you, asked for help. I got some super information that worked for me. Look under Personal Icon Size in this same discussion group. Under that you will find camerahond's infornmation to me. It really works well. I do not understand the instructions posted either but camerahound knows how this works. I also used his GIF suggertion. Good Luck

morbid, try saving the jpeg or bmp image to a gif image(compuserve gif). it's almost the same kind of picture but has a much smaller file size.

or if you use PS's Save for web option you can preview the image and its file sizes at various compression rations before saving it.
