I'm just wondering how the regular visitors originally found the website. I could look up referer information from the server logs, but this gives me more interesting information. It's just for my curiosity, thanks.
I think I was google-searching for Escher wallpaper... but that was awhile ago. In any case, that was about the first thing I downloaded from here.
Whoa, assuming the dates are still correct on the Eschers I downloaded, it was nearly 2 years ago to the day that I downloaded them (11/27/2001). Weird. :-p
A friend of mine 'Frelu' showed me this site last year, when I was still in school, said it was great^^ so I registered.^__^. In any case, I must say this site really changed in a year, and for the better^^. I was not so much of a regular visitor before, but now I'm here all the time! loool
An MSN search engine guided me here. When I did the search this site was probably 10th or so in the list and I stopped searching once I found this site... never had to go anywhere else for my backgrounds (that's a compliment to everyone who contributes, just in case ya didn't catch it :P)
Yeah my answer is pretty much the same, through Google I would imagine. Actually I just remembered I had been here B4, maybe a week or two earlier, but when I got the message about registering I left... then by coincedence I ended up here again, this time I gave in and registered, added comments, voted etc... I don't think I would have done any of those things if it hadn't been "mandatory", so I guess that means it works...
i had become disenchanted with other sites because of the lack of moderation. so i turned to a search engine looking for 3d art... i think it was 'ask jeeves'.
i found this on google and it was first on the list... i dont remeber what i searched though =) i think it was a message from some high and mighty server somewhere....
i was guided here by a friend, just one post on my msn messenger and im addicted.. he knew my weakspot for the abstract.... and now im churning out the abstracts too!
I think I remember a Japanese magazine asking about listing my site a long time ago. I asked that they just send me a copy of the magazine, but they never did.
A mate wanted to show me how good his pieces were.. sayin it had so many downloads, and all this stuff... -- Reborn87
I looked at it, then closed the window after looking at his piece :P
then, faith guided me back here.... it was the inevidable!!
wallpapers on msn.com! I kinda was looking for a wallpaper sorce other than webshots and more painful sites. i figured if i was willing to pay for those sites, then i could find one that was better and didn't force a fee. Then found this and i like it more then the competition. the boardes are tits dudes.

GOOGLE baby, GOOGLE, t solves all of my problems, from end of term papers to desktop backgronds, by the way; this is by far the best one of them all!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANX CAEDES
Well, among all of you,i am a bit new around here.2 weeks ago ; ) By the help of google and AltaVista search engine.Happy to find a quality-art site...İ learn a lot. Thanks to you guys..
Caedes: Copernic is a "meta search engine". It can find something on the web for you, searching in a lot of search engines while eliminating doubloons, ...

Same as most - Google search for wallpapers. Found many sites, none to compare to this though. Great site, great pictures. Keep up the good work everyone! :)
I was reseaching the Hatch Ammendment when me friend Mike showed me this ultra cool site. I lost the site for awhile and then I found a reference form another CG website named somthing like Digital Blasphemy.
i remember that i used to look up wall papers thru cognititve distortion and another site whose name i cannot remember, but i became rather unhappy with the fact that in order to access all of the wallpapers on these sites you had to pay... so i looked long and hard thru lycos for "free wallpapers" only to chance upon findly the holy grail of all these sites!
since then, i have turned many a friend of mine, 8 so far i think, onto these paradise of free roaming desktop wallpapers ;)
of course i would now pay for this site if needed, because it's not really a site as much as it is a community!
I searched for wallpapers on google, it was the first (and only) site I tried...the first wallpaper I downloaded was Dark Wood by Cain- love that pic...now I'm addicted to the site, just like all you! :-}
At times life is wicked and I just can't see the light, a silver lining sometimes isn't enough to make some wrongs seem right, whatever life brings, I've been through everything, and now I'm on my knees again but I know I must go on, although I hurt I must be strong, because inside I know that many feel this way... ~Creed~
I wa sbored of my own wallpaper... so... On google I searched for sommething like "free desktop wallpaper gallery"... and I clicked on a few things and nothing was good until I clicked on Caedes... and now I visit it every day, waiting until my camera comes to I can join in! It's the coolest site ever!
Tracy pointed me in this direction after some tension at spymac that I really didn't like... It was in other words MMMAi's pirating of your great stuff (especially some of Samuels finest work...) that eventualy led me to this wonderful place.
To be more excact, one of your member here, noranda, started to post a lot of nice shots in the spymac galleries. There were *some* individuals that gave pretty mean and otherwise unneccesary comments and ratings to those photos... I gave my usual supporting criticism and felt quite appaled by the others behaviour. I couldn't understand it (they are generally quite ok there... ;-)) until Tracy sent me a PM and explained.
I started frequenting spymac because of the photoclub they had started just before i got my beloved camera. It was a wonderful way for me to start explore it's (and mine) abilities. After I found caedes.net with Tracys help I've been here every day and are not so involved in spymac anymore... I saw some of Pierres shots here that first time, and haven't stopped browsing the site here since. ^_^
Not only is this a place for great creativity, it's also a place where everybody are nice and supportive to one another. Now that's a rare thing!
I saw "The Calling" on a co-workers screen and asked him where he got it. Awesome work here folks, keep up the great work ! Maybe I'll even be brave enough to upload a thing or two when I have some time. :)
I went to Metacrawler Search engine and looked up Free pic posting sites..;)
...."I have a little sign in a coffee shop here in my town that has the Caedes web addy and My Author name..;)~ I know at least 4-5 people joined for that reason alone.;)
A few years ago I searched for computer art and I bookmarked it. More recently I thinned out my bookmarks and visited Caedes to see if it was still here. The site had grown tremendously. I had been a guest before but I just had to become a member when I started downloading tons and tons of images for my screensaver. Not long after that I started trying my hand at creating my own images.
My son wanted something he could use as a band logo idea, I was on the web and I stumbled over the site looking thru Graphic and fantesy graphics sites. There ya go.
Yep, google searched 3D wallpapers about 5 or 6 years ago. It's been some time since I've been on here, but I need some help finding an old picture. I'm afraid it was been deleted. I posted a new topic, so if anyone can help, please read it!
