Hey, just an idea, but I've noticed alot of collaboration lately. Just as a suggestion to caedes or one of the higher mods, maybe we could add a collaboration gallery. Maybe for the first few weeks just keep it on "New Images", but if things turn out well, I think it would be great to have it as a seperate gallery for the ones that are out there.

I personally think it should just go in the gallery that it matchs up to. If it is a landscape put it in the landscape section.

ya, most people downloading wallpapers dont care whether it was a solo effort or not, so just put them where they belong, and if people like the nice boarders they will go for those ones

i guess because most of these works are re-hashing previous posts wouldn't they fall into the rework gallery?

That's my feeling as well. I recently told the ImageMods in a discussion that I prefer images to be classified by their content and not by the manner in which they were created. For instance, two people can create a picture of a duck in different programs. Do we put them in separate galleries for the program that was used (even though few care about that), or do we put them in the "duck" gallery?

Everyone else who wants a duck gallery say aye!! :-)

allright, just clearin the idea up with myself. Maybe if not that, then something else. What Im aiming at is getting those people's efforts known. Ive seen some great ones lately, and I think it would be cool for everyone to get into the whole collaboration deal.
Maybe a contest? That would be fantastic. It gets everyone involved, and maybe even able to meet some more people around the site. Anyways, its all ideas, thanks for responding, whatever seems worthwhile with you guys works with me.

We could start up a contest and have a theme like it's usually set up to be. BUT, one of the new rules for this particular contest, is to combine your efforts with someone else into the collaboration. I thought the collaboration by itself at first... but like you guys were saying, there are tons of different topics, subjects, things to base a picture on, so maybe this is being that much closer to an idea?

It's a great idea, in fact, it's so good we should go back in time and do it. :-D Contest 10, "Household Objects", was a collaborative contest. I think the general consensus was that the entries were incredibly good and that another collab contest should be done again. (We've allowed collab in other recent contests, but it was not required.) In short, it's an excellent idea, and I think it will definitely be considered as a part of whatever the next contest is. :)

lol, thanks for that magic school bus moment Mike. Well hey, i guess they just beat me to it! Yeah, I think that'd be great. Nathan's new images have been awesome collaborations, total inspiration. It would be cool to start up another contest like that.

I know I see to love creating ideas that require caedes to work on the upload page (which sorta includes each image page), but perhaps a box could be created in which you place additional parties names and/or links. Yeah, I know there is a comment box already, but this one could look official!

That's not a bad idea. It could be optional, "check here and elaborate if so" type of thing. Good suggestion Luke.
