Two of my more recent images have fared very poorly - Perihelion - current c-index 57 (though you can't see it currently - it has too few votes). The other one is Impossibility which has a c-index of 63 and only 5 votes. I wonder if it was because I posted them after a gap of some months (they were posted in February and my last piece had been August) but then that shouldn't really affect people's voting.

Now I find it difficult to judge my own work, but I wouldn't say either of the images is terrible. Perihelion in particular is a piece that I can see a number of areas for improvement - it was the first scene I had done of that type. However, I can't work out why they both got such a low number of votes cast and low average raw votes.

I see many images posted that I think of as average getting high votes, so I am confused when some of mine get such low votes. Now, don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying that my images are great and should get high votes. Like I said above, I can't really judge my own work. I just would have expected these two examples to have done a little better - especially Impossibility which I though was reasonably well executed (well, for me anyway!) Maybe they just suffered from zipping through the new images so fast, but then that is surely true of anyone.

If anybody can spare a moment to take a look at the images and make any suggestions as to why they got low votes, then I would appreciate the feedback. Be as honest as you like!

I took a look to your two images, Pherihelion is not so bad, course it needs some improvement ,but don't they all? The other one I can't say that I quite understand it,But who I am too judge Art? the image is clear and it has its own design but personnaly I wouldn't put it on my destop! As in to vote, well I think that most people vote on what they like and don't like more then vote an evaluation of the art! Am I making sens?

Perihelion - Although I quite like it, remember you are competing with quite a few other images in the "Computer -> Space" gallery which are very similar and done in a most professional manner (eg Moodflow). Members might be voting using a comparison to "Walking with Orion" or similar.
Impossibility - I agree with caedes that this might have too many gimmicks. TO me it looks more like a test image to show what certain effects in photoshop look like, than a finished image.
