Upload Problem

Have been unable to complete upload process because the upload button does not appear at second stage.
I have tried 3 different browsers.
Is this just me or are others experiencing the same thing ??

EEEK !!!
Apologies, it IS my computer. Tried laptop which is ok.
I also have other PC problems on this site - no upload dates are visible and I can not change order of new images from random to date sort.
If anyone has any suggestions what is wrong I would be very grateful.

All I can think of is that you have some sort of firewall/virus protection that prevents the user from being able to upload? Or possibly the settings are set for very low access privileges (something other than administrator)? Normally I would suggest emptying your cache etc however the fact that it effects three different browsers in the same way is very odd.

Perhaps try uploading an image on a different site and see if that works?

Add blockers? Java script issues?

Thanks for suggestions. I am almost bald from tearing my hair out. Nothing has worked - also did a registry restore (ERUNT)but am unable to access System Restore, not even from a command prompt. I have religiously made regular backups over many years and never had to test whether they may work but I think the time has come - very nerve wracking ! It is something to do with IE, because it has the problems, also 2 Maxthon browsers (which is dependent on IE) Opera works just fine. Not being able to access SysRes ot even Help and Support suggests something more is wrong.
I have downloaded and done a complete re-install of IE8 (this is an XP machine)
I have admin privileges, use built in firewall, cache is cleared, Avast AV has been problematical - was resgistered until August but now says it is unregistered . . . problems seem to be compounding by the minute ! Have disabled ad blockers and Java script has not been touched.
Oh well, back to the drawing board (re-drawing board)

Unplug from the internet and restore from backup.
Good luck!

Update if anyone is interested.
Just before I had the problems here (and on other sites) I had a glitch with my Avast Free AV. It was registered until August but suddenly was informed my "Trial Pro Version" had expired and I was no longer protected. So I uninstalled (with Revo uninstaller) the 'Pro" version (which I had never installed) and installed a fresh download of the Free Version - registration showed the correct date.

Today it was again showing unregistered (this time 'free' unregistered version) Downloaded the Avast Removal Tool which removed everything Avast, reinstalled the free version and all is well - including this site, my banking site (which gave nowhere to login), System restore again visible (was just a blank window before) and a few other glitches.

What the connection was I have no idea. (?????????)

LOL and before anyone starts thinking my marbles are lost and I MUST have installed the Pro version of Avast - I am not the only one this has happened to - a google search proves this.
Only a few weeks ago I was muttering about a friend who the same thing happened to - I was convinced she accidentally clicked to upgrade, but she never got the other glitches !

Restore averted !

Sorry to have taken up space on unrelated matter - nothing to do with caedes whatsoever.
I am off for a well deserved drink now, in front of the fire, while the wind and rain bluster outside. What a wasted Sunday!

Must be some "helpful" windows thing to "protect" you if it detects that you have no anti virus software. Would be nice if they informed you though wouldn't it!
