This has already been posted on the "offtopic" board but it seems to be a bit slow to take off so I am re-posting here in the hopes more people might take part.
The idea here is that an image will be posted that can be interpreted into a well known phrase, song/movie/book title, place name, etc. Members send a PM to the author (rather than posting on the image discussion where others can see) with their guesses and the person who figures it out then posts a new image of their own. You can see the entries so far in the "New images -> Caedes" gallery here. not including the image "orbis caedes"). The answers to these images, as an example, are (from oldest to newest): "Pie in the sky"; "Half a loaf is better than none"; "Barking up the wrong tree"; and the latest is "I'm gonna walk dem golden stairs", an Elvis track, posted by Papi11ion. No one made any attempts to guess the latest one, hence my post here to get things moving again... there is currently no image posted for guessing, since no one got the last one right, but there should be a new one up soon (and if anyone else would like to have a free go, let me know).
My question is, is this idea worth pursuing? Is anyone planning to take part? If so please let me know below.
People aren't going to remember the things you do. They're going to remember how you made people feel. Be kind, gracious, and appreciative. Dan Winters - Photographer.
I appreciate your creative efforts, but I'm afraid this idea may be a bit too esoteric to appeal to many. As others have stated, I doubt I'd participate.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Ok, well someone was very quick of the mark and guessed correctly. BUT I am leaving it a bit longer before revealing the answer to give them a bit of time to prepare another riveting puzzle to tax our brains lol
Some clues? Think musical - it does have lyrics but is better known as an instrumental piece. It is very well known and reached number 1 in the US and number 2 in the UK.
In 1969 it went on a very long journey - longer than anyone here has ever gone (as far as I am aware).
There have been some other good suggestions - keep them coming :)

The answer is "Stranger On The Shore' You can listen to Acker Bilk performing it at the London Palladium in 1988 HEREor Andy Williams lyric version HERE Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have learned it was originally called "Jenny' after his young daughter. The crew of Apollo 10 took "Stranger on the Shore" on their mission to the moon in 1969.
Thanks for your suggestions. Drum roll please . . . . the winner is . . . TICK (0930_23 ) Thad (luckyshot) also guessed correctly after some clues.

Have had three guesses so far. Good to see! No one has got it yet and the guesses varied pretty wildly so I guess we need some hints:
It is a famous landmark There are two elements that form the answer
The three guesses I have had so far were "New York, New York"; "Really old news"; and "Kenny Rogers and the first edition". As a further hint, none of these words is in the correct answer.

Eugene (nuke88) guessed the correct answer which is 'Bird One The Wire' by Leonard Cohen. Well done Eugene - your turn to provide a new Puzzle Pic now :)
Like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free. Like a worm on a hook, like a knight from some old fashioned book I have saved all my ribbons for thee. If I, if I have been unkind, I hope that you can just let it go by. If I, if I have been untrue I hope you know it was never to you. Like a baby, stillborn, like a beast with his horn I have torn everyone who reached out for me. But I swear by this song and by all that I have done wrong I will make it all up to thee. I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch, he said to me, "You must not ask for so much." And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door, she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"
Oh like a bird on the wire, like a drunk in a midnight choir I have tried in my way to be free.
