I don't know about other parts of the world but the Caedes server over here on occasion is pathetically slow..I'm on a 152 Mbp LAN and on quite a few occasions I may as well be using a 28,000 bps Modem..Pictures slow to load and comments sometimes take forever..It's not a one off either..It's been happening for months now...R.

I notice that opening thumbnail images can be slow at times, I'm running 50meg fibre optic so there's nothing wrong with our download speeds.

Waited 4 minutes for a page to turn on here!...As Richie says...the UK server needs to be looked at...This happens regularly, and 'ONLY' on the Caedes site..it doesn't happen on any other! .. .. .. We use 3 laptops..all are the same!

Just in case this pops up again as a concern..
You might want to eliminate the routing that your ISP does before pointing the finger at the servers.

"Traceroute is a common diagnostic tool for displaying the route (path) and measuring transit delays of packets across a network."
... ...
And it might be possible, as well, that there was, in fact, server maintenance being run by the co-location facility that hosts the Caedes server and/or the site here itself.
Though, typically.. one would be met by the page stating just that on the note of the latter ("Please be patient while the gremlins do their work").
