I've gone and uploaded an image while no ImageMods were logged in (woe is me when those plus signs are missing from the users list). It's been over half an hour; the image is doomed for sure, will find itself dead and rotting at the "upper middle" (O the upper middle!) of the first page, rather than at the very top.
Then again, exaggeration's not such a good thing.
Really, I'm sort of just scratching my head and wondering what convention all the ImageMods are attending today. Maybe they're holding a conference.
(You folks aren't supposed to have lives! You need to confirm, confirm!)
Looks like you've done some research into the best slot to premier an image, adding yet another layer of anxiety to posting.
Do I post this? Do I take the risks? What night is best to post? Will it stand out on the page of thumbnails? Or is page one already full of grand stuff?
Kilie, I almost do that sometimes. At the very least, I try to upload when there are more people on the site. (There was one time when I was trying to consider the busiest times for Caedes -- you know, working around work hours, when most people will be going to sleep [on weekdays], and so on -- and then trying to consider what the most populated time zones were.)
Luckily, that was only one night, and I've since ceased that silly line of thought, and just resolved not to upload when it's morning here (EST).
Well, I can start up my planer...that will thin them real quick. Just have to keep an eye out for foreign objects that nick the blades and make for a rough finish;-)
