Can't access offtopic forum

This has happened to me before but not for so long and with such consistency.

ATM every time I click the "Offtopic" link I get the page to "Post a new topic here". The other links all work correctly. Sometimes this happens with other forum links, today it just seems to have picked the offtopic forum.

If I try long enough it will eventually let me back in for a while but then if I mark forums as read it does it again.

Happening again today, after a long break from this error.

Hit a couple of hiccups today.. trying to access the Offtopics, and then, as luck would have it.. the Feature Bloat / Bug Squash section here as well.

Resolved pretty quickly, though.

Yesterday.. I couldn't access any content of the discussion forums.

Clicking on.. returned the pages with side menus intact.. but, save that of the framing of the interior part of the page.. nothing.

And.. I couldn't access the site period.. for a few minutes. Came back as unavailable.

... ...

Here's a tip that works, Sam, when you can't access the Offtopics (or, any section of the discussion forums)..

Use the "search" function at the top of the page..

The caedes.net Discussion Boards

search .. mark all forums as read

... and search for, and for example; "TPBM".. click on it in the search results.. et voila.. you should now be able to access all Offtopic discussion threads after loading the "TPBM" page.

Although, I can't remember if you had to make a post to that thread as well before continuing onto the others.

Someone gave me "creds" on an offtopic post so I was able to access the forum that way, pretty much as you described. I didn't need to make a post I don't think?

Yeah, now that I think about it some more.. I don't think that one has to make a post for "things to take" (i.e. load the respective section of the discussion boards).

And as luck would have it.. happened to me again, on the note of nothing whatsoever loading for the discussion forums.

Side menus.. check.. center of page, where the discussion forums should have appeared? Nothing. With all framing elements accounted for though.

(Did not even get the "Post a new topic" page.)

In performing a discussion forum search.. click on the respective discussion forum section to load.

For example.. and using the search term; "TPBM"..

Discussion Board -> Off Topic -> TPBM

... clicking on "Off Topic" will load the entire section. And from there.. post/comment on whichever individual thread to your heart's content.

I'm seeing this issue that I can't load the "Off Topic" forum.

Yeah, happens, Tim.

Time is what usually resolves things.

Or..

Try the tip above and do a forum search as suggested.

Since last night.. been encountering some issues accessing Offtopics here, too.

For example.. blank page (of sorts), as in.. no discussion threads displaying at all.. just the page template (headers, etc.).

I did manage to use the forum discussion search feature, though, and gain access today without waiting:

Searched for "TPBM" and then clicked on "Off Topic"..

Discussion Board -> Off Topic -> TPBM
