My husband awoke me with this news this morning and I join Jacqueline with additional thoughts and prayers as I'm certain many have and will.

I dread to think what is going to happen now. G8 was supposed to be a momentus moment in history with the very real possibility of Africa being lifted out of its terrible debt and poverty and instead this will probably all go by the way.

the long term global implications of this attack could be huge and it just goes to further underline what a vile and evil sect these terrorists are. acting in the name of god? my arse....

Another stupid thing done in the name of religion. I am stunned (though not surprised). The human tragedy is terrible, but as Phil says there will be doubtlessly be a political knock-on. This senseless cowardly act will serve to further fan the flames of the fanatics on both sides. Once again, it occurs to me how apt my signature below is.

You are no doubt sadly right about that...like your signature, Captain, and agree wholeheartedly...we have come so far in terms of technology...a shame our morals and tolerance for each other hasn't kept pace.:Pat.

I as an American, feel great sorrow in my heart for you. Attacks out of anger are never the answer.
The world we live in is becoming smaller every day. We must start to realize that the actions that we take toward our neighbors and that are made toward us are never unseen or unheard. And to us the name of a religious entity in any form for violence is in its self against all teachings of that religious entity. All religions teach kindness and passion; not anger and vengeance.
This type of action must be stoped for all mankind regardless of how hard the path may be.

I apologize to you for this. As a citizen of the USA and of this world can not help but feel in many ways responsible for this.
My best wishes to your country and the innocent that must pay the price for fanaticism and the violence that it brings to your country and through out the world.
My biggest fear is the retaliation that this will further.

I can't understand the fanaticism, but I can understand the pain and the loss of life and innocence. My heart goes out to all those in London who felt the attack personally and all in the world who are affected by terrorism. It has to stop, they cannot be allowed to run free and rampage the world.

grit and guts ... thats what the English people are famous for .. and I believe that this cowardly act will only strengthen your resolve .. I do not believe that the Americans are in any way responsible for this .. the radical nature of these people would be the same regardless of who they targeted ... and I do believe that it is only a very small percentage of their faith that are involved...

It doesn't matter why it was done, those that did it are murderers pure and simple. The sooner the world deals with these psychopaths, the better. London has endured far worse and never gave in, this will make no difference to them.

Condolences to those who are affected by injury or loss.

Yes, London has been through worse, and will get through this. The worry is that the bombers are still out there. Maybe they have more to do.

Heartfelt prayers from Canada! I have a feeling this is far from over with the horrible terrorist attacks on the world. 911 was horrible, this is horrible and there will always be anger and hate and war out there. We must stand up together across the world with love and support. Chin up until this one too passes!

I hope this is all over soon. My next door neighbor, 94 years old lost her brother and sister, her only family in the subway. I hope it ends, 9/11 and this were bad and the incident in Spain. Hopefully there will be no more hate.

I'd like to express my deepest sympathies to all the victims, and their families.

I also want to commend the response by your fire departments, and health care workers on the great job they've done, and continue to do.

I can only hope this helps strengthen our resolve.

Terrorism must be stopped.....at any cost.

I was glad to hear how unchanged the British were from this incident. They all seemed to say it's not going to change their life one bit, which is the best attitude to have about this. It just shows the terrorists desperation for us (US and England) to remove our troops.

That day was terrible but we will emerge from it stronger than ever. I haven't met one person yet here in england who isn't carrying on as normal. When will these terroists realise that there methods just aren't going to work.
