I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. Have sent June an e-mail outlining my problems and how we solved it.

"unable to access" is a rather vague description. Any details? What was the source of the problem that you were having Robert?

Yesterday in the mornig (CST) I tried to hit CEADES and got a popup with the unusual message "Unable to contact Caedes.net". Is that specific enough?

In fact right now I can't download any avatars. The page does not finish downloading. I'm looking at the full text of the page, no avatars, an hourglass / pointer and a blue bar at the bottom of the screen indicating that it is still loading. I'm running Firefox 1.0.4

Regmar, Yeah...I'm not seeing any avatars. Every page I open, only half the thumbnails load, and if I switch to hyper mode....none of the thumbnails load. I'm using IE6, and have a high end PC with Roadrunner cable. I checked a few other sites just out of curiosity, and don't seem to have a problem. =0(

My "connection was refused" all through this morning, and now that I'm on, the user list on the left says "1 Members Online," with no names below it.

EDIT: As soon as I posted this, that number went up to a whopping 56, with names showing.

The problem that the site was having with thumbnail images was due to the images.caedes.net server going down last night while I was asleep. That server is also the DNS server for the caedes.net domain, so it caused the caedes.net site to go down shortly thereafter. That problem, however, is unrelated to the initial problem that June was having since the images.caedes.net server was running just fine at that time.

Just letting you know that I too and Morwyn and Joost all had trouble accessing the site today...it took hours to get on...I got an MSN search page instead, saying it could not find caedes.net, but "I have returned" and can see all the avatars just fine using IE 6.0.:Pat.

Same problem, but ok now.

I could not get on either. All of Monday evening and not this morning til just now. It is noon on Tues. I imagine the server was down? wow..there are TONS of people on here right now..hehe..good to see. Glad all is resolved..

Yeah, now that the site is working again we are really packing them in today and the new images are coming fast and furious...yay!..:Pat.

well my connections problems appear to have been down to good old Norton Internet Security which took a dislike to Caedes and decided it was an intrusion threat all by itself despite being fine with it for quite sometime previously.

This morning I tried to access this website and I received the error message from IE saying something about unable to find... I thought the site crashed or something.

[EDIT] Ok... I shoulda read the whole thread before letting my fingers go flying off. Well, hope it doesn't happen again. I actually had a panic attack over this site. How embarrassing.

To answer Caedes question about myself being unable to access the site a couple of weeks ago. I was able to go anywhere I normally go on the web except Caedes.net (frustrating). It turned out that a server on one of the hops was responding but not allowing any traffic through. My ISP spoke to the people who manage these things, they must of waved a magic wand because shortly after everything began working normally.

Yesterday’s problem was quite different, my ISP was able to tell me the problem was specific to Caedes.net

Poor June still can't get on site...she has been in touch with her service provider but no luck as yet.:Pat.

trisbert, it must be nice to have a usefull isp. Almost everytime my internet goes down and i call them they tell me to go to my cable modem. Un plug it, and then plug it back in. That resets it and they always make me do that everytime, but i keep calling cuz i like to bug them. Anyways one day i acctually got a guy who knew something and guess what, he acctually changed something on their end, and it hasn't done it for a very long time now. Stupid isp.

June still can't get back and tells me that pom1 (Philip) also can't get back on site..I am not computer saavy enough to come up with any solutions for them and don't even understand the nature of their problems....anyone have any other ideas what to suggest to them?...June has been in touch with her service provider but has had no luck with that yet.:Pat.

I had that trouble all last night (aussie time) just kept saying unable to find caedes.net

perhaps clearing the site history and cookies might help.
