Hi all - The mods have discussed how we'd like to implement this (at least those of us who are available to participate in running it right now), and this is how we've decided to structure the feature:

��I will post a thread here every week for that week's eligible images.

��Eligible images will be anything that has been uploaded from 12:00 am (0000 hours) Monday morning to Sunday evening 11:59 pm (2359 hours) EST time.

��Nominations will be open from 12:00 am (0000 hours) Monday morning to Tuesday 8 pm (2000 hours) EST for the previous week's images.

��You can either post your nomination in the thread, or send it to myself, Mimi, or Piner in a pm.

��At about 10 am (1000 hours) EST time Wednesday morning, I'll update the thread to announce the selected image.

The first eligible images will be those uploaded for this coming week: Monday 2/4 through Sunday 2/10! (Unbelievably, I had to look at the calendar 3 times to make sure I posted that right and didn't attach the wrong date to the wrong day... my brain may have started the weekend already...)

I am totally confused with the times. My Monday to Sunday happens earlier than yours. I just posted 2 images that show the the date as Monday 4th but Monday will not have arrived there yet - so do they qualify? Guess not :( Or do they?

Also I think you DID actually make a mistake with the dates - did you not mean 02/4 through 02/10 ?

Are only nominated images eligible ? I can't quite understand when nominations are to be made - its reads as just from 12am to 8pm on a Monday. (Or in my case that will be Tuesday 6am - 2pm as I have worked out we are 18 hours ahead of you) Are these times set in stone?



Also - could a direction to this thread be posted on the front page to alert those who do not frequent the discusssion boards? Its is easy to submit a news item but it hardly gets used other than for contests news.
Or pms sent to active members asking them to look ?

Lyn, that's correct, because they're not Monday EST zone, they won't be eligible.

As long as nominations are coming in, nominated images are the primarily eligible. However we're leaving in mod's discretion to choose something else that we feel may have been overlooked. We expect any instance of that to be fairly rare at this point.

Tuesday 8 pm. I SWEAR I went back and put in the Tuesday. I caught that one [grumble grumble]. The nomination window is 44 hours long, not 20. Sorry for the confusion.

re: PM'ing active members, that may be a bit of overload for me right now, I'll ask one of the other mods if they can take care of it since we don't know how quickly the front page news will go up.
