Update!

Okay, you really made us work for it this week - there were several images this week that stoodout and choosing just one was a pleasantly hard task. But in the end, there is a standout who edged just a hair ahead.

Hi-Ya by jerseygurl has been selected as this week's image of the week!

Superb lighting moves across the image with a high range of contrast that transitions from lights that are bright without being blownout to darks that are dark without being black, against a black background that enhances the clarity of the image. From a composition standpoint, the single flower fills the frame without seeming to work for it - while the angle of the flower into the light gives the impression of the buds reaching for the light and flourishing in it. Plus the whole appears to be shedding and spreading pollen thing.
