I was just thinking about the desktop and the icons, and was wondering: wouldn't it be cool it some one made a background that looked like a monitor, but without the screen, just the hollow box with the components? It would look like the icons and taskbar were floating in space... I don't have any 3D rendering programs besides Terragen (or the skills to use them), so I'm just putting the idea out there. Feel free to use the idea to your liking and take full credit.

Yeah it could be a CRT or a flat panel LCD (which I have). Either one would be cool.

Anyone know what the inside of a monitor looks like from the front? I mean, I would have though it was mainly the CR Tube.

Anyone remember the windows 98 desktop theme called "Inside Your Computer? It came with this wallpaper. I believe that's the effect they were going for.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Its cool, but I don't think thats what I was talking about. That looks like the inside of the CPU Case, not the inside of the monitor.
