Just want to throw out an idea to caedes and see how it bodes with most here.
How about a section on each caedes member's profile that deals with what I'm tenatively calling, "Tools Of The Trade". In a section between "Projects" and "Member Since",there could be a listing of what each artist and photographer here uses to create their images.
This could range anything from cameras,a special filter they use often, image editing software(Gimp,PS,and such),and if they draw or paint their pictures, techniques the commonly use,or a special brush or pencil that they use often.
I believe that this could be benificial to people on this site looking for ideas on how to improve their works. For example,if they find that the drawings they create are lacking a certain aspect, they could go to a member's profile to see if they use anything different, and then maybe they could experiment with that.
Just throwing this idea out in the open, please reply and see what you think.(Hope this idea hasn't been posted before)
I think that's been suggested before. I seem to remember that the official answer was that you could put that in your profile anyway under 'projects' or whatever. I could be wrong. Maybe there could be a section for you to post your computer setup and tools. It seems a reasonable suggestion.

Oh.Well,I am sorry if this has been posted before,if the mods see fit they can delete this. I just believe that the projects section isn't meant to deal with this, though I may be wrong.
I would definitly like to see an equipment secion. I often wonder what type of camera different people use. Its not that important, but sometimes could be interesting.

Expanding on what MiLo said, maybe one of the people here are intrested in buying a new camera? They see these great photographers on this site, and perhaps their choice of camera can be aided by seeing the results of the pictures others take.
Although I'm sure most people would mainly use it to list their cameras,I'd hope they'd go as far in depth as they can(filters and such)so as to better help others look for ways to better their photography.

After thinking about this, I decided that the "Projects" section was probably originally intended to be related to photography and computer art stuff in the first place. Perhaps if we start the trend people will make a habit of putting their tools in that field instead of the miscellaneous stuff that's generally there currently. I just edited my profile to start the idea rolling. What do you all think of the format I used? If we all start doing this I think we could shift most members of the site fairly quickly, maybe even get a mod to post a news article about if the idea is popular...
