What is up with all the excess advertisements and pop-ups on caedes lately...im using firefox and im even getting pop-ups. THis is way out of hand.

I noticed a massive increase in adverts myself. Maybe server fees are getting at Caedes. Personally, I don;t like ads, but will tolerate them to keep this site up and running.

The ads increase the loading time for each page to open, it annoys me but I deal with it, probably how caedes gets his cadre?

I'm currently testing out some different ad formats and companies. You're not supposed to be getting popups though. I'll have a look into that. The reason I'm testing these other ads is because the google and tribal fusion banner ads that I've been using haven't been paying anything recently. The Cadre donations are a big help, but they aren't currently enough to fully fund the lease of the server. So the only other choice is advertisements.

Ok folks, tired of annoying ads? Then step right up and get your cadre upgrade right here and you will never have to see those ads again.... only 3 dollars a month, only 36 measly dollars a year! What a bargin! While you are at it, get one for your cat or dog too! What are you waiting for? You know you want it! ;c)

Thats unfortunate Tony... I, too, have firefox but haven't encountered any pop-up ads. I hope things improve for you and anyone else running into this problem...

I haven't encountered any, either. I use FireFox, too.

The problem was what I had last time. I got round it this time by using Firefox....and clicked all the boxes about pop-ups..including the one that says 'load images from the originating website only'. However, it is fine this morning using Secure IE.

To Piner...yeah, I know I want it, but the credit card companies don't want me anymore so unless another payment method is offered I can't contribute...any changes on that in the works?

Pat - as far as I know PayPal let you pay by either debit card or direct bank account transfer as well as the usual credit card route.

Lots of popups

I have my browser set to allow pop-ups and I have never had any appear when I was on caedes.net.... maybe you have some adware on your machines?

well i have no spyware or anything, i scanned my comp. But I havnt had any more pop-ups. I guess you can think of me as "cheap" cuz i havnt joined the caedre yet, but its still a few more months til im old enough to have paypal, and for that I say the ads are way out of hand.

If it was adware, it was only working on Caedes...using the same sites that were up on screen....therefore I believe it wasn't adware.

Note to Piner and camerahound: even if there were popups I don't think they would appear for cadre members. Just FYI.
