My question to you (everyone) is how do you manage to get your avatar quality so sharp
making them 60x60 with a 5kb limit i cant manage to make any avatar look somewhat decent (as you can tell by mine lol) im just wondering if there is some secret loophole around the 5kb limit or something that i am missing completely

Yep...5kb isn't much to work with. I think I ultimately changed the format to a GIF, but am not sure that will solve your quest for sharpness. It's important to START with a sharp and relatively large image. Can't pull pixels out of an image that is too small in the first place.

If you have photoshop you can fool around with the settings for posting images to the web (gif) and get a relatively sharp (alaWenpeder) Avatar. I made my avatar blurry before conversion to gif so that it appears impressionistic and it actually does look a bit like me.

yea switching to gif was what i did because before (my first post in this topic) i was using jpg and as you can see it was very blurry... but yea i just thought it was time to change it up a little bit since i had that other one since i first joined
