I need to ask what is the smallest size we can post a photo here? I thought it was
1368x1024. Is that right or wrong? Someone else told me differently.

As per the "FAQ" on this site,
"What size images can I upload?
The server will accept images at the following pixel widths and heights: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024, 1600x1200. We chose these sizes because they are the most commonly supported resolutions on current video card and monitors...."

1600x1200 is the preferred size for uploads. Many members filter the galleries by size, so the image size can effect the amount of views, votes and downloads.
As it turns out, anybody who posts at 640x480 is likely to be a ripoff artist or a rank beginner. I love beginners, but one of the first things they have to learn is to post bigger! I always suggest to them that it's impossible to do a good wallpaper at that size and to please upload bigger. I think 1024x756 should be minimum size, but then I haven't had a screen that small in years, but I realize some people may still have that sized desktop. But honestly how many people will have a 640x480 desktop? I think that went out with Regan.
yeah, i honestly dont know anyone who (in their right mind) would be running 640 x 480. And as DigitalFX pointed out, a lot of begginers post at pretty small res, but hardly ever as low as 640 x 480. Also, you'd probably free up a few 10's of gigs by ditching all the 640's
update: I just did some rough math and figured it would be about 16 gb of files, I guess thats not a whole lot.
Ok c'mon now guys!!...........which is the one to post? I dont have a huge screen yet, but not the small one either...I just simply want ONe unanimous answer k? thanx!!
well since we are goin this route, maybe we should add a size up from 1600 x 1200 =) If you were lucky enought to own a Apple Cinema 30" display, you'd never find a background...
well, I would love to have some great 1600x1200 resolution, but my 15"TFT monitor is only capable of 1024x768, therefore most of my work is at that resolution because it can be troubling trying to edit things that are bigger than your screen at full size.. ive been wanting a better monitor to fix this for ages, just space and costs that are the problem..
