An Idea to Prevent Thieves

I just had another of my thoughts, I don't know if this can or will work but, when you open up an image on the site, if you right click, you can save, set as your wallpaper, etc. So, can't there be a way to prevent people from saving the image to their computer unless they're a member?

This might be in the wrong discussion page but I didn't know where to put it.

What would prevent a member from stealing it?I think about the only way you can stop people from stealling yor pictures is to not post them on the net.

You can certainly disable the right-click context menus with a bit of code, but then you have to mess around so it works on all browsers. On IE6 for example, you can just hover over an image to get various options such as save.

In any case, a half-way smart person can just retrieve it from their browser cache.

i think you want to let non members save because then they will be attacted towards becoming members, also if i want to show someone a picture on a public computer or something i dont want to always have to sign in

I agree with tbob. If you wanted to "steal" an image, all you would have to do is sign up which is pretty easy anyway. But thanks for sharing your idea.
