I just recently found this website, looking for wallpaper. I am very interested in creating abstract art, I was just wondering what programs are good for doing that. I would appreciate any feedback.

thanks!!

Hi. If you will follow the FAQ's link on the left of your screen, you will find a list of most commonly used software. You will also find some answers to other questions you may have if you are new.

I'm using Apophysis right now, and since I'm still relatively new to this, I'd say it's a pretty good program for beginners. Irfanview is also a good tool for editing, and some manipulation. =]

I recently downloaded Apophysis as well. I have a copy of Bryce 5, but it's not free. I also have Paint Shop Pro, which I use to tweak things. PSP isn't free, but it's less expensive than the full version of Photoshop. It's pretty decent software, IMHO. I've been using PSP since it was still free online and you could download it on dial-up (although now, it's about $99 at Best Buy).
