Ok so i am making some colour orientated posters as a gift for someone... (there are 4 of them each one has 4 pics on it and each poster has its own colour one is red, blue, green, yellow) so what im looking for is ideas of things to take for the colours blue and yellow... im looking for some stuff that is really creative so not things like the sky or a school bus... i almost have the colour yellow covered because of fall colours but i am completely stumped for blue

if anyone has some ideas it would be a great help

You could turn your white balance to tungsten or flourescent and experiment with different objects under daylight. This will give your shots a blue cast. Tatoos might be interesting?

You could use the reflections off of a blue tinted, reflective (mirrored) glass-clad building or a blue sculpture of some sort.

Water, bluejays, (eyes - great idea - humans, cats, dogs), fabric, glass vase or bowl (resale shop) marbles, tropical fish, an open can of paint, part of a neon sign, lapiz jewelry, and what about ordinary objects, but really macro, or just a piece of an object--I have these scissors that have blue & grey handles that could be a really nice form if just part of the curve is used... you get the idea. Sounds like fun!

Going with brphoto's idea, I think you should use that "Corporate Religion" building shot of yours and crop and change the colors.

And, I knew Darryl was going to say that eventually! lol

Nuthin' says lovin' like somethin' from the oven

so ... Blue Jello ... er, ... Jeffo's Jello ..

If you find a good recipe you could go on to open little drive-thru jello bars next to freeway onramps ... coz ... everybody I know likes to see if they can keep their jello on the spoon while navigating the spoon to their mouth ... in rush hour traffic

You'd be a tycoon, a mogul, ... a jello czar

Blue? Hmmm.... the water in a swimming pool (light blue), or maybe colbalt glass (dark blue)..

Never give up. Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. ~~ Michael Jordan

Great ideas so far. There's little to add, but still, maybe try out:

1) Melting ice-cubes (any shape) with tungsten WB would be really cool. Could work out great with yellow tinting (or simply yellow lighting).

2) Cooking oil (/ water mixed) tinted (physically) in different colors sprayed /sprinkled /spilled on glass (perhaps in the form of a mirror).

(I'm a macro oriented guy so for me it's just a question of getting the right angle and lighting... I would nail it in a couple of hundred shots I guess... ^_^)
