As some of you might know, from my recent Cloud Break image, i have been creating a cd cover for a friend's musical endeavours! Now i come to the text phase and would like some advice on layouts! You can see what im currently favoring HERE and i would appreciate any comment and advice anyoneis willing to send my way! literal content of the text wont be changed! so im looking at styles and format of font and layout!
not sure its hard to say.the placement of text can make or break. the font seems quite alright to me but there are thousands to choose from so go with the initial liking to it i think. as for the lay out, the top like seems fine but the vertical set mite need re-arranging. one thought was to layout 'wind beneath her feet' diagonally from top left to bottom right roughly following the contour of the wings & maybe have 'part 1' printed below the right wing by her feet. so the line is somewhat broken up but it might not work, its just a suggestion :~)
well sticking with the same font, how about THIS. I have decided to try and talk my friend round to not including the (part one)! Seeing as the second part has a seperate subtitle! but possibly include it on spine and back print!
Do the text in a 30% transparent white. With a white or lite yellow outer glow . I think that that would give you the depth you need to see it. If you want to email it to me grim , I might be able to help you.
I like this last version much better. I think decreasing the font size and the new placement of it helped bring it all together better. I like the shadowing around the font too. I have no trouble reading it at all.
Definitely like the second idea better. The text pushes into the the flow of the artwork instead of laying on top of it. The 'T' 'B' and 'H' could even begin larger to exagerate the tunnel toward the light effect and fill more of the space.
Thanks in advance for any of your time!
GRiM!
