Pool Table Desktop

I looked for something pool-themed, and found only two pictures, neither of which I was too fond of. One had pool balls scattered around the table, altered so that instead of numbers, they had eyes. The other was a rather dark picture of a table from about an inch off the felt, looking at two billiard balls, and a cuestick tip. It was rather dark, though, and not what I'm looking for. Anybody up for trying to make an interesting photograph desktop wallpaper for a pool fiend?(I'd say shark, but I'm not that good...just addicted)

animaniactoo: I suppose if realistic enough, a CGI or digital would be fine. I don't want something that *looks* like CGI. Ideally, it would be a photograph, but I'm not picky.

KEIFER: I didn't log on for the sole purpose of asking for something. I logged on because a friend pointed me here, and I found it full of wonderful material. Personally, I think if you're that opposed to freely sharing this kind of thing, and so opposed to ever giving something for nothing that you feel a need to leave a comment here discouraging others from helping, and insulting me, I think you're missing out on the greatest potential the internet has, which is for the purpose of sharing information.

The fact is, we've had a few people log on specifically to ask for favors. I should know, I was involved with one of them. Be that as it may, I'm sorry you've taken offense to Keifer's statements. He has ALWAYS helped out others, he has given freely of his time & expertise to many people on this site. And on others, as well. Time & time again. We all know we can always depend on Keifer.
I am merely offering you an explanation, because believe me, if there's one person who knows what the Internet has to offer, it's Keifer. And if there is one person I would run to should I need help, once again, it would be Keifer.

KEIFER: Sarcasm...I'm not surprised. I didn't say you never help people. I simply tried to point out that if you're not going to help *me* in *this* instance, then why comment. Why make it more difficult by discouraging others. I also find it intriguing that you take offense at what you thought was the suggestion that you never help people, and in that sense, attempt to defend your character, but when quite plainly accused of needlessly insulting someone without provocation, you offer up no explanation or defense. I'd appreciate it if you stopped contributing such counterproductive comments to the thread, but I'm not optimistic.

laurengary: If you could explain the flaming and attempts to discourage others from helping, I'd appreciate that. Thus far, all that has been explained is in defense of something I never suggested he was guilty of.

I agree with Lauren.. so many come on here get all they want even to the point of ripping the work, or asking for particular kind of images to be done only to have the artist work hard to make it and getting no credit or even a thanks.... then disappear just as fast... which is why people are very cautious about "new" members coming on and asking straight away for a particular image to be made.... Keith is forever helping people on here, sitting for hours either finding programs, unusual sites, help with working with programs.. the list goes on.. so to say what you did is an insult to him too.. geez he'd share his lollipop if you asked him...

There's been a misunderstanding. I never accused him of never helping people. Then again, I was met with unprovoked hostility. How was I supposed to know that people did this all the time, and were less polite about it than I was? At this point, I'd simply like to know how you'd have me, or anybody I might suggest this site to, go about this in the future to avoid getting this kind of hostile response? It just seems to me that if he didn't wanna help, he didn't have to help, and I wouldn't be wasting much of his time. But instead, he took the time to call me names. I never meant to imply that he never helped anyone. I was simply trying to ask him not to make it more difficult instead, and not to insult me.

hmmm… might I suggest explaining what you're looking for instead of pointing out the things that you didn't like on the images you found?

animaniactoo: Done and done. Ideally, I'm after a photographic shot of a pool table. CGI or digital imagery would be okay if photography ain't an option, in which case the demand for detail would probably be less. A shot of a rack from the breaker's perspective might be nice, perhaps looking down a cuestick. Either that, or perhaps a fair scattering of the balls, as though taken just after the break. Well lit, and bonus points for contrasting the lighting on the table with dark surroundings. If pressed for picky details, clarity would be a plus, too. I want to see it through the player's eyes, examining in as much detail as possible, measuring precisely...hope that's clear enough.

I can only ever recall seeing three on caedes in the time I've been here. Two you already mentioned and here is the third: http://www.caedes.net/Zephir.cgi?lib=Caedes::Infopage&image=dream_falcon-1078570887.jpg

I don't think it's really what you're after but I'd be surprised if there were any others. YOu might have to look on other sites... try google images perhaps.

Man...if that's what Snooker looks like, I'm not sure I ever want to learn to play it. I've heard of Snooker here and there, but not much. Nice image, and thanks for the help. No, it's not really what I'm looking for. I do want something resembling a pool table in color as well as general shape and this, while undeniably and immeasurably cool, is not that. I do appreciate someone pointing me to this, though. This sucker kicks ass. But alas, the search continues. Thanks again, for your efforts. I've tried Google images, but I might try playing around with search terminology a bit...I've noticed that that can yield surprisingly varied results. Thanks for the flagging, and the tip.

All this guy did was ask about a wallpaper. On a website dedicated to wallpapers. Absurd, isn't it? You people are condescending towards some one for asking a question. And why? Because they haven't commented on your work? Because they have not gone on Caedes every day for the past 5 years? Because this person might actually have a life outside of Caedes?

If you are so bothered by these threads, all you have to do is ignore them. Don't post something rude and meaningless to the thread. It makes no sense to defend your rude comment by talking about how helpful you have been in other threads. It also bothers me that other people blindly defend the irrelevant comments with the same illogical reason.

Getting back on topic, did one of the pictures you are describing look like this: (link). ?

MorpheusZero, you are a gentleman and a scholar. A little support is greatly appreciated in these situations. I had one other user on here PM me about this, informing me how to deal with this if it got out of hand. Mostly, I can ignore it, but it's nice to get people supporting me. No, none of them looked like that, but as with the last one, that's also very cool, and I'm hanging on to it.

Hottrockin....that is very cool. Just wonderful, and adorable, and trippy. Thanks for digging something up for me. I've found a couple pictures that fit the bill since I first posted this, mostly thanks to ideas I've been given as to how to find what I'm looking for. But I've also gotten a few very nifty others out of it as well.
